Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star Of the State of Wisconsin The Grand Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star of Wisconsin assembled in third annual meeting in Egyptian Hall in the city of Milwaukee on Wednesday, February 22, 1893 and was opened with the full ceremonial of the Order by the following:
Grand Officers:
On April 28, 1893, the Worthy Grand Matron instituted Viroqua with 63 charter members. On February 9, she instituted Racine with 66 charter members. The Grand Chapter will be called upon to grant charters to 18 new chapters. We started the year with 29, today we number 47. Dispensations to organize new chapters were issued to:
Shullsburg …..When a Masonic Home, caring for those needing protection and support shall be deemed necessary in Wisconsin, let us be prepared to there show our invaluable assistance in caring for, and even in inaugurating such an institution. The following payments were authorized: Worthy Grand Matron travel expenses, $60; services of sentinel, $5; services of organist, $5; elevator services $2. The retiring Grand Matron and Grand Marshal installed the Grand Officers with a promptness and dispatch which evoked the commendation of all present.
