The sixth annual meeting of the Grand Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star of the State of Wisconsin was opened in full ceremonial form by the following:
Once again an All-wise Providence has directed your footsteps here and Milwaukee Chapter No. 2 is honored by greeting such a notable assemblage of Sisters and Brothers from all parts of the state who meet in the best interests of our Order…. Milwaukee has added two golden links to this chain, both of which give promise of great strength, Electa and Vega Chapters, which we recommend to you for your kindest consideration. This is in all probability our farewell to Egyptian Hall, where the G. C. of Wisconsin sprung into existence five years ago, and it has been the Mecca toward which the faces of Eastern Star pilgrims have been turned each February since. District Conventions Owing to the increased number of chapters, it became necessary …to redistrict the state and our seventy-two chapters were accordingly arranged in nine districts with conventions held at points as convenient as possible. ….At these conventions ….I was greatly pleased with the exemplification of the work. (At this time Worthy Grand Matrons were appointed as Grand Representatives by Worthy Grand Matrons of other states). Membership: Early in October, circulars setting forth the aims and purposes of the Order, its history, landmarks and regulations, together with suggestions how to proceed in organizing a chapter were sent to the Worshipful Master of the Blue Lodge in each town where no Eastern Star Chapter existed. On request, I sent out petitions for dispensation. New Chapters:
