The Grand Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star of the State of Wisconsin convened in fifteenth annual session in Masonic building in the city of Milwaukee, on the 22nd day of February 1905 at 2 o’clock p.m.

The Grand Chapter was opened in full form by the grand officers. After the singing of an ode and the offering of prayer by the Grand Chaplain, the Grand Marshal proclaimed the fifteenth annual session of the Grand Chapter of Wisconsin opened for business. The Grand Matron appointed Mrs. Mina B. Glasier of Bloomington Grand Marshal in place of Mrs. Dorothy Crawford who was absent.

Mrs. Martha Yerkes, Associate Grand Matron:

Memory takes me back to our first meeting, fifteen years ago. We met in the old Egyptian Hall to form this Grand Chapter, a mere handful compared to our present numbers. But heart and voice would fail me did I attempt to speak of that time, for we miss those who worked with us, and through whose efforts it was made possible to establish the Order in this state. It has been my privilege the past year to come in personal contact with many of our members and I realize as never before the good our Order is doing. I have noticed many acts of unselfishness and kindness. You know such things attract love in return. In striving to make others happy we gain our own peace and content.

Worthy Grand Matron:

“And now we meet, for only a little while to stay,
each hand to grasp with earnest clasp
and greet our friends today.”

“We must not forget that the deeds of today make history for the future.”

Nine Deputies were appointed and a meeting for the purpose of a school of instruction was held on March 16 in Milwaukee.

On May 12th, I had the pleasure of attending the Grand Chapter of Minnesota, St. Paul.

One of the most delightful occasions of the year was a reception given in honor of my election by my home chapter, Hudson.

The Masonic temple at Antigo burned the morning of April 21. I was notified that Jewel Chapter No. 19 lost everything except their records.

It was my good fortune to hold this honored position the year of the triennial gathering of the General Grand Chapter. This National Assembly convened in the Scottish Rite Cathedral, St. Louis, September 19 and closed September 21st. I take pleasure in announcing that Sister Ella Washburn was elected Right Worthy Associate Grand Matron of the General Grand Chapter which is certainly a great honor, not only to our beloved Sister, but for the jurisdiction of Wisconsin. Another honor in store for Wisconsin is that Milwaukee is the place selected for the next General Grand Chapter.

Worthy Grand Patron:

During the year I have received petitions and granted dispensations for new chapters at: Walworth in Walworth County
Middleton in Dane County
Burlington in Racine County

Resolved by the Grand Chapter: that the sum of Two Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($250.00) be set aside annually for the years 1905, 1906 and 1907 for the purpose of meeting expenses.

The usual reception was given by the officers of the Grand Chapter at Plankinton House Tuesday evening. Wednesday evening the members of the Grand Chapter witnessed the exemplification of the ritualistic work by Electa Chapter No. 75 of Milwaukee and it is not too much to say that the work was perfect. Miss Erma Bashford, daughter of the Grand Matron gave several fine selections. Mr. Watson of Racine and Mrs. Samuels of Milwaukee gave vocal solos.
