Sister Carrie L. Hayes, Grand Marshal, called the meeting to order and instructed the Associate Grand Conductress to invite the Grand Matron and other Grand Officers to enter the Chapter room.
The sounding of the bugle announced the entrance of Brother Col. J. A. Watrous carrying the emblem of our country, and after the song, America” by the Chapter he presented the America Flag to the Grand Chapter.
….The year just passed has been one of great anxiety and uncertainty for the threatening danger of war clouds ever closely hovering over us have caused us to reflect in all sincerity and with profound thought at what the future may have in store for us….
…recommend the per capita tax be raised from 30 to 35 cents.
…at its annual session in June, the Grand Lodge made the necessary arrangements for taking over the Consistory property at Dousman, the magnificent gift of Mr. Willard Van Brunt of Horicon…..
When the transfer was made to the Grand Lodge, Mr. Van Brunt gave $200,000 more towards the maintenance of the Home. One can hardly comprehend such generosity, it is almost beyond compare.
