Grand Matron:

If you are as glad to have us here, as we are to be here, then indeed is the true spirit of loving fraternalism reciprocated.

WGM attended the Grand Chapter in Minnesota. A reminder that all chapters must use black cubes and not black balls in the ballot box.

I endeavored to visit chapters that had not been visited for some time. I have visited 51 individual chapters. I constituted six chapters and attended ten conventions.

I cannot close without mentioning a few of the special occasions at which I have been present; the thirtieth anniversary of Oconomowoc, the twenty-fifth of Janesville, the sixteenth of Mauston and events at several chapters. I was happy to install officers at four chapters, including my own, Queen of Sheba, and I would be remiss if I made no mention of the splendid banquet and reception tendered me there after my return from Grand Chapter.

“My struggling soul may never gain the prize it covets so;
It may not gain the gates of Paradise at sunset’s glow;
But I have faith that in the shadows blue at set of sun
I shall be judged by what I’ve tried to do – not what I’ve done.”

Grand Patron:

I can readily see what a field of usefullness lies before a Grand Patron who has the time to devote to the office. I have enjoyed mingling with my Sisters and Brothers in their own chapter rooms. I attended two District Conventions, one in my own District which was entertained by my Chapter at Kaukauna. This was attended by over 300 members representing fourteen chapters. It has been my privilege as well as pleasure to grant dispensation for a new chapter at Frederic. I received a petition signed by 12 members of the OES residing at Frederic on December 5th and after receiving a very favorable report concerning the proposed new chapter, a dispensation was granted to them on December 19th.

Masonic Home: At its annual meeting last evening arrangements were made for the immediate erection of our OES Hospital. When these buildings are completed and the grounds put in order, the Masonic and Order of the Eastern Star Home will be a thing of beauty and joy forever, providing every comfort possible for our dear old people. The contracts for the building provide for everything except the furnishings—these we are going to ask the chapters and lodges to supply, and I know from your faithfulness in the past, you will not be weighed in the balance and found wanting.

Free Will offerings: $404.00

Grand Lecturer: Chapters were regrouped to form 38 districts. Twenty-four conventions were held. In selecting teams for the various forms of the work, I felt it just to all concerned to choose those officers who were filling the same stations in their own chapters.
