The Thirty-fifth annual session of the Grand Chapter convened in the Scottish Rite Cathedral Auditorium, October 6th, 1925 at 2:10 P.M. Ten Matrons carrying chrysanthemums and oak leaves preceded in two columns before the National Flag and the State Flag. Grand Matron: Superior Chapter of Superior, WI constituted December 1 by Estelle A. Tinker, Grand Matron. It was my happy privilege to attend the institution of Dousman Chapter and assist the Grand Patron as Grand Marshal. I take the privilege of mentioning the Dousman Chapter because of the association with our Masonic Home, as this Chapter was very fortunate to be able to have the use of the Auditorium of the new Masonic Home. The Masons are doing themselves proud in the erection of a new Masonic Temple and we take pleasure in mentioning the fact they had the women in mind when making plans for this building. SHALL WE BUILD A TEMPLE? A majority of the delegates at the last Triennial Assembly said “WE WILL!” Every member of every Chapter in every Land under the Sun and from every Island of the Sea is uniting to build this Memorial to our Order. Grand Matron had official visits at 73 Chapters and was entertained at seven. She appointed an Education Advancement Fund to report at the next Grand Chapter. On May 9th attended the Grand Golden Anniversary Conclave of the Nebraska Grand Chapter. Attended the Eighteenth Triennial General Grand Chapter at Toronto August 10th to 15th. Grand Patron: The outstanding event of the year took place on the evening of February 18, 1925, when your Grand Patron instituted Dousman Chapter at Dousman, Wis. The petition for dispensation was signed by over 40 members and the ceremony was conducted in the Lodge room located in the Masonic Home. A complete set of jewels for the officers of the new Chapter was presented in memory of William and Adeline Robb Reid by their daughters Elsie and Ina J. Reid. On February 25th a reception was given me by my Home Chapter, Fidelity Chapter No. 94. A banquet was served to over 300 people in the large and commodious dining room of the wonderful new Masonic Temple recently erected at Appleton.
No. of Chapters 247 Special Project: $1,000 to the Masonic Home. Chapters of Milwaukee held entertainments and religious services from time to time. Donations from Chapters of jellies and fruits, oranges, and a Victrola. |
