Greetings from Thomas Loignon, Grand Master: Your beautiful gift of loving kindness in the erection of the hospital at Dousman is but a symbol of love from your fraternal household and will live through the years to come as such. Worthy Grand Matron:
Your friendship, and kindness and deeds of love will ever treasured be; Correspondence: Letter from Illinois Grand Chapter offering services of a visitors’ bureau for the Chicago World’s Fair.
Somebody said that it couldn’t be done, but he with a chuckle replied Visited the Grand Chapters of Iowa, Indiana and Minnesota. November 25th, Burlington Chapter entertained in my honor, inviting my chapter (Lake Geneva) over to enjoy the party with me. I have made twenty-three social visits, one constitution, one institution, two investigations and 117 inspections. Once more I wish to express to this Grand Chapter my sincere appreciation of the trust and honor you bestowed upon me, an honor which I consider a priceless possession. Worthy Grand Patron: During my term of office I have had the pleasure of meeting men and women of every walk and station in life and the memories of these associations will be added to my storehouse of pleasant and profitable experiences, and in years to come, when I look back over this official service, it will be with a feeling of gratitude to the members for the confidence, opportunities and honors they have bestowed upon me. To my Home Chapter: Loyalty No. 118, you have been all that the name implies. Your receptions accorded me when I was elected Associate Grand Patron and again when I was elected Worthy Grand Patron would gladden the heart of anyone. They were real “welcome home” occasions, put on in a most delightful manner. Your gracious consideration, generous support, favors, gifts and words of encouragement added materially to the pleasures of my office and will always be appreciated.
It is giving and caring for somebody else, Song: “The Green Cathedral” by the choir. Tuesday evening: Music by a violin trio, “Carry Me Back to Old Virginia” and “Trees”. I have also made eighteen social visits. Benevolences: During the years 1928, 1929 and 1930, $4,658,386.67 was donated for the support of OES and Masonic homes, orphanages, hospitals, Masonic relief, emergency relief, Red Cross and education. (worldwide) This does not include the relief work of individual chapters which can scarcely be estimated. Masonic Home: An electric range for kitchen and some hospital supplies. $1,069.35 Cheer Fund. Donations from chapters: jams, jellies, subscriptions, box of apples, dresser scarves, candy, and entertainment.
