Let Harmony and Happiness ever be the watchwords in keeping Faith and Trust in God and mankind. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. Proverbs 3:5 Era of Harmony in huge gold letters shown impressively on the velvet curtained background. The setting in the East depicted a choir loft with beautiful arched, stained glass windows upon which were inscribed the motto of the year. Light shining through the windows cast a sacred glow and with the singing of the Choir gave one a sense of peace. To the left of the setting in the East was a drawing of a Holy Bible opened to the Book of Ruth, to the right a large musical clef denoting the Worthy Grand Matron’s intense interest in music. Illuminated golden sheaves of wheat backed each Star Point station. The white fence outlining the labyrinth was made to represent a musical staff with small single and double notes and entwined with yellow roses. A huge sheaf of wheat graced the foot of the stairway to the East. Plants of yellow mums completed the setting. Wauwatosa Chapter sang “Trust in the Lord”. The Grand Usherettes, in violet and white net dresses, wearing dainty wrist corsages and carrying the large white musical notes, escorted by the Grand Ushers, entered and formed a semi circle in the Grand East. They were followed by the Grand Pages in their white and yellow embroidered nylon gowns carrying tiny violet corsages attached to small musical notes who marched to a position on the stairway to the Grand East. The Grand Officers were attired in gowns of yellow and white nylon and lace. The Grand Usherettes, Ushers and Grand Pages formed an archway of musical notes through which the Grand Officers retired. Worthy Grand Matron: Each morning when I wake I say, I place my hand in God’s today. I know He’ll walk close by my side my ever wandering step to guide.” Among my cherished memories are those of my official visits to our subordinate chapters. Every visit had something worth while, no two meetings alike. Attended 27 official visits. Three exemplifications were held. Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska, Minnesota and Kansas Grand Chapters were attended. The 29th Triennial Assembly of the General Grand Chapter was held in Philadelphia. May 17, Golden Anniversary of West Allis Chapter. Worthy Grand Patron: I have been deeply grateful for your confidence in me and for the privilege of meeting with you as we worked together for the good of our Order. My visits have taken me to all four corners of our state. I found the affairs of these chapters in good order. It was a pleasure to find that the officers and members of these chapters were not content just to be good. They were anxious to be better and accepted eagerly and willingly suggestions for improvement. I attended twelve inspections. $6,600 for ESTARL, $431.39 to Shriners’ Hospitals, $3,975.81 to International Temple Fund, $10,000 to maintenance of Wisconsin Masonic Home, $516.13 for Christmas party and cheer.
