Theme: Heart of Friendship
Motto: Aim: Not for Self But Others Bible Verse: A friend loveth at all times Symbols: Heart and Butterfly Colors: Pink -- Aqua -- Gold The theme of the Grand Session, “Heart of Friendship” was featured in the Grand Chapter East, above the curtain. As the curtains opened, the peace and beauty of God’s Garden of Love seemed to flow out to each Sister and Brother. Cedar and boxwood trees stood in the background of the garden, with their branches spreading a welcome. A glittering butterfly was perched on one branch. A gazebo and old-fashioned triple-tiered fountain stood among the flowers and more butterflies were perched on them. In all this beauty stood a white wrought iron bench. Flowers, in their array of colors, made the garden a charming dream come true. The garden’s entrance wall and steps were of large and small fieldstones in colors of bright red, gold, nature’s green and black, set in white, and bid everyone to come to GOD’S GARDEN OF LOVE, NOT FOR SELF BUT FOR OTHERS. A white rattan chain fence, connected to iron posts with a ball resting on top of each post, enclosed the Grand Chapter floor, which was covered with the traditional white carpet and red runners. White panels representing a wrought iron fence were placed in the East. Fresh foliage plants stood between the stairways with hot pink ribbon bows decorating the East railings of the stairs, which were covered with white carpeting and red ‘welcome” runners. White mum plants graced the front of the entire dais. Behind each Star Point chair was a fountain, lit in the color of each respective Star Point. Colored beads were placed in such a way to simulate water flowing. A garden setting every- where. Ushers, in dark tuxedos, entered the Grand Chapter room and formed a Cup. The Grand Pages, in gold-sequined gowns, formed the Heart around the Cup. These formations were arranged by the Milwaukee County Patrons. The Grand Officers were attired in pink satin sequined formals and the men in dark tuxedos. SPECIAL PROJECT: Installed Nurse’s Call System at Masonic Home
